S. & D. Oyster Company: Fresh Seafood Delights in the Heart of Dallas

This restaurant opened 50 years ago, but I've only been eating here for the last 48 years. I have always had great service and great food. While I am not an oyster fan (but some in my family are), the fried shrimp is always my go-to meal. The cole slaw perfectly accents the menu. And B.A.'s spicy shrimp dip is a must for starters.

S&D Oyster never disappoints. Their food is delicious, the staff super friendly and location is prime. I always gravitate to the same dish while I'm here... because it never lets me down. If you want something fresh and full of flavor, I highly recommend the New Orleans BBQ shrimp.

First time there with my spouse, which had been there over 30 years ago, he said the place is the same. Our waitress don't recall her telling us her name. But she was great, food delicious and pecan praline ice was perfect! We will traveled some distance, but we will be back!

Absolutely beautiful place, the food was better than expected. Lovely soothing atmosphere and staff were great, especially Amiya she was a gem! Absolutely professional and she really made my day. Definitely will be coming back.

We usually go before noon on a Saturday — not packed, but still lively yet relaxed feel, like there's nothing to do after and just enjoy, eat, and have fun. I love the old-school charm, and that kind of service that feels practiced in the best way. The staff carries themselves with confidence and history. You can tell they’ve been doing this for a long time... and doing it well. The oysters were fresh and cold (exactly how they should be). The coleslaw? Finely diced and crisp — a small detail, but it shows care. My nephew ordered the blackened red snapper — again. It’s his favorite here for a reason. Perfectly seasoned and cooked. We had salads that are simple and protein-forward — not fussy, just good ingredients done right. This isn’t the place for towering microgreens. It’s about quality seafood and a great experience. The best part? My dad, who’s 82, remembered coming here 40+ years ago and said the experience today was just as outstanding. That kind of consistency over decades is rare. It’s also my nephew’s favorite spot. When a restaurant wins over three generations at one table, you know they’re doing something right. Still classic. Still excellent. Still worth going back. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I had such a pleasant experience here as a solo date. This place was recommended to me by a financial representative of mine & this place did not disappoint. They happened to forget spinach, but the lively atmosphere made up for that & the most attentive & kind staff made sure I was well taken care of. I will be returning, I also had a chance to meet Mr. David, who showed me the correct parking lot which will be helpful, due to the gps bringing to me to the incorrect location. I love the shrimp & oysters & stay here for roughly an hour. The music, dim lighting, & overall layout really did it for me!

CHARLIE I LOVE YOU TO THE MOON AND BACK!!! Best service best food. He made us a tableside cocktail sauce for our oysters. Definitely got dinner and a show. What a great experience. Their patio is so beautiful especially with the lights on the trees. We also got the managers sampler and it really is a little of everything. Perfect share plate. This will be a staple to come back to whenever we visit Dallas

S&D Oyster was phenomenal. Hands down the best fried shrimp I’ve ever had…perfectly crispy, not greasy or overly breaded, just unreal. The Blue Point oysters were out of this world and packed with flavor. Huge shoutout to Pepe, our waiter! He was knowledgeable, friendly, and clearly knows his stuff. He even mixed us a custom cocktail sauce to match our exact taste, which is next-level service in my book. Couldn’t recommend this place more. If you love great seafood and even better service, don’t sleep on S&D Oyster.
